amber rozema director - screenwriter - photographer

Amber Rozema (1997) is a Maastricht based Dutch film maker, director, photographer and theatre teacher. When she was younger, she has always been pursuing a career in theatre. This led her to study at the Institute for Performative Arts (Toneelacademie Maastricht). During her studies, she fell in love with film as the perfect medium to tell stories through – admiring the possibility of film to translate life into poetry and to put a magnifying glass onto the refined emotions of people we usually see over in daily life. This incited her to gradually start with developing short films. In 2022 she graduated from the Directing department with her self made poetry film Phantom Pain. After completing her studies, she decided to stay in Maastricht and continue building her professional environment there. During this time, she co-created the short fashion film THE LEAP, in collaboration with four other artists, a project initiated by Fashionclash. In 2024 she began developing an idea for her first short fiction film and this idea got selected for the ShortsLabs by CineSud. This idea eventually grew into the completion of her first short fiction film All I got is nothing but a little bit of love (Lieve Lieve) that she wrote, (co-)produced and directed. Currently, Amber is working on the development of two new short films.
