Lieve (16) usually spends her days at the city skatepark. Here she pushes the boundaries of growing up alongside her best friends, with whom she shares cigarettes with as well as stories about dating cute boys. Secretly, she hopes to run into Jonas here, a skateboarder she slept with for the first time. Lieve feels a lot of love for Jonas and she can't wait to pursue a lovingly relationship with the skateboarder. However, once Jonas has arrived at the skatepark, he is keeping his distance from Lieve. Step by step, Lieve is starting to realize how the experience with Jonas isn't as right as she once believed. Did he actually care for her and her boundaries? As the truth gradually sinks in, she decides to make a new decision - to prioritize self love.
Lieve Lieve has been developed during the ShortsLab program initiated by CineSud, during which Amber was coached by professionals in the writing and directing of the film. This is the first short fiction film Amber has made and it is currently in the early phase of distribution. In 2025, Amber was selected for the Dutch Film Talents to Cannes program initiated by CineSud, during which Lieve Lieve was presented in the Short Film Corner at Cannes Film Festival 2025.
